Chair (W2) of Inflammation and Hematopoiesis


The professorship is affiliated to the Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden.

We are searching for a scientist with a proven track record in the fields of inflammation and hematopoiesis. A special emphasis is laid on the interaction between the aforementioned fields. Specifically, you should have expertise in the regulation of myelopoiesis in the hematopoietic niche as well as in innate immunity and its effects on hematopoietic progenitors in the bone marrow.

As a successful candidate, you are already known as a research personality in the field of interaction between inflammation and hematopoiesis and have experience in raising third-party funds. Another part of the activities within the scope of this professorship is to participate in teaching (course in Clinical Chemistry) and in laboratory medical diagnostics as well as in academic self-administration.


The employment of professors with medical duties takes place within the framework of non-tariff employee contracts with basic remuneration as well as performance- and success-related remuneration components. Prerequisites for employment according to § 58 SächsHSFG are a university degree in medicine, doctorate, and habilitation or an equivalent qualification record.
