Toll-like receptor 10 (TLR10) is a pattern recognition receptor with mainly anti-inflammatory effects, in contrast to other TLR family members. Although the ligand and biological function of TLR10 is unknown, it has been shown that TLR10 is able to decrease the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines upon stimulation. Next to that, TLR10 is able to induce IL-1 Receptor antagonist, an anti-inflammatory cytokine which is also increasingly produced in trained monocytes. The aim of this project is to investigate the role of TLR10 in trained immunity.
